Winter Athletics Registrations 2024-25

Winter athletic registration is quickly approaching! The chill is in the air and our winter sport coaches are getting ready for a great season. Winter sports registrations open two weeks before the start of the season via SchoolPay. Please be sure that your sports qualifying physical is current through the winter season. Email athletics@rpsmn.org if you have any questions about the registration process. 

The start dates for winter sports is as follows:

• Competitive Dance (Co-op with Kennedy and Jefferson) please register with RHS - October 21
• Girls Hockey (Co-op with Kennedy and Jefferson) please register with Jefferson - October 28 
• Alpine Skiing - November 11
• Nordic Skiing - November 11
• Girls Gymnastics (co-op with Kennedy and Jefferson) please register with Jefferson - November 11
• Boys Hockey (co-op with SW Christian) please register with RHS - November 11 
• Girls Basketball - November 11 
• Boys Basketball - November 18 
• Wrestling - November 18 
• Adapted Floor Hockey (co-op with Edina, Kennedy, Jefferson and EP) Register at RHS - November 
• Boys Swimming and Diving - December 2 

Before a student can participate in any practice, tryout or competition, there are a few steps that need to be completed.

1. Sports Qualifying Physical must be on file in the Activities Office. 
   • Sports Qualifying Physicals are good for three years. If you are unsure if your physical is current, stop by the Activities Office or contact Joan Liljenquist at athletics@rpsmn.org. You can take a picture of your physical and email it to athletics@rpsmn.org or have your clinic fax your Sports Qualifying Physical Clearance Form to the Athletic Office at 612-798-6129.
2. Apply online for Educational Benefits at www.schoollunchapp.com. If you qualify for benefits, this will reduce your fees.
   • Log into www.schoolpay.com and complete the MSHSL (MN State High School League) Forms
   • Add them to your cart and process the payment for this $0 form
   • If you do not have an account through SchoolPay, you can easily create one with your school ID number. Students and parents both can have an account in this system. 
3. Complete the sport-specific registration form and payment at www.schoolpay.com. Once you process your payment, you will receive a receipt confirming that your registration has been received. 

Important things to note:

• If the Activities Office does not have a current physical on file or if you have not completed the MSHSL forms you will not be able to register for the sport. 
• We never want finances to be a reason a student does not participate in an opportunity. We have payment plans and scholarships available for families in need. Please email athletics@rpsmn.org so we can make arrangements before the season starts.
